Astrology Carnival: Second Edition

Welcome to the second edition of the astrology carnival.

There's only one submission this time which means Joanne gets to hog the spotlight with her wonderful article on Mars and Venus in Relationships posted at Natural health, alternative healing, nutrition, natural birthing, green living and healthy families. It made me think more about the role Mars and Venus play in my chart and how their energy is expressed in my life. I must admit I tend to take Mars and Venus for granted while focusing more on the intense dramarama planets like Pluto and Saturn.

The third edition of this carnival will come out around the middle of August. You can submit your blog article to the next edition of the astrology carnival using the carnival submission form. You can also email me your link (make sure you mention that you want it included in the carnival) or post it in the comments below.

Saturn Return in Leo: My Journey Part 5

This may just be my last entry on my Saturn Return. Even though the transiting Saturn is still pretty close to my natal Saturn, it feels like my Saturn Return has run its course (In my experience, when an aspect is applying between planets it feels more intense than when separating). We'll see if I'm speaking too soon.

I think the biggest lesson I was reminded of during this time is that the most important thing you can take responsibility for in your life is accepting yourself. Of course, that's also one of the hardest things to do. Looking back on my life, the biggest/stupidest mistakes I've made were all tied to trying to win acceptance from others. My abandonment issues from my childhood can make it feel pretty scary to not have the acceptance and approval of those around me, so at times it can still be ever so tempting to change direction even though I know it will only be yet another mistake. But with my abandonment issues, the most responsible thing I can do for myself is fulfill all my own needs for acceptance to the best of my ability so I don't set myself up for more big, stupid mistakes.

Astrology Carnival: First Edition

Welcome to the first edition of the astrology carnival. I hope everyone enjoys these great submissions!

Chandira writes about
Mercury Retrograde, Jupiter Direct, insomnia and the 4th of July.

Jennifer shares her Saturn Return experiences in Why "Saturn Return can bite me" you asked?

Renee gives us a fun article for dog owners and lovers: Dog Horoscope: You either believe it exists or it doesn’t, no in between posted at Small Dogs Paradise.

Brandon explores cosmology in Is Cosmology for Quacks? (My two cents on the subject is that cosmology is definitely a part of astrology, especially shamanic astrology).

Michael presents Visualizing the Zodiac, a fantastic site for exploring the symbolic meaning of each degree of the zodiac.

That concludes this edition. There will be another edition around the end of July. You can submit your blog article to the next edition of the astrology carnival using the carnival submission form. You can also email me your link or post it in the comments below.

Astrology Carnival

I started an Astrology Carnival. The idea is this: Those who are interested submit links to recent blogs entries they've written related to astrology. Then I will collect those links together and post an edition of the carnival on my blog. I will only be posting links to your blog, the link to the blog entry you submit, and maybe a brief summary of your article or my thoughts on it. Right now, I don't have any rules or guidelines other than the articles needing to be astrology related, but that may change. First, I thought I'd see if anyone is actually interested in this!

Jupiter Retrograde ends July 6th

Jupiter has been retrograde in Scorpio since March 4th and will finally move forward this week. I've really been feeling this retrograde as Jupiter is one of my ruling planets. It also doesn't help that during the retrograde Jupiter opposed my sun and squared Saturn (both transitting and natal). So for the past few months it has felt as if Saturn took over things. Sure, I learned a lot, became more disciplined with my work, and realized where I need more discipline in my life. But the whole entire time, any attempts I made to move forward felt as if I were banging my head against a brick wall. Not my favorite hobby.

However, I did notice an interesting pattern between Jupiter and my freelance writing income. I checked back over my financial records (my sun in the 6th makes me do these things), and my income dried up whenever Jupiter turned retrograde and flowed when direct. This year was no different, as far as the drying up part goes. We'll see how the flow goes.

Needless to say, I'm very happy to have my pal Jupiter back from his nap (Um, in case you think I have lost my mind, I have. That's what banging your head on a brick wall will do).
